Hi there. This is a forum devoted to Franchise Wars, but i'd like to set a few ground rules for the forum, because we do need to ensure that the people who join up can be sure that they won't just be reading through offensive posts, and if they are they will be dealt with.
First off, the most obvious one, please keep all offensive comments to yourself. An offensive comment is anything that is either offensive to a forum member or anything that is blatantly racist, sexist, homophobic or anything that can be deemed as abuse towards a person or a group of people. If a moderator spots any comment like this, it will be removed and the poster can be either warned or banned, depending on previous posts or the severity of the comment. No swearing either. You have been warned.
Secondly, try to keep spam off of the forum. Spam is anything that is pointless in every respect, and will be deleted. Save us mods the trouble, don't post it if there's no point. Continued spammy threads/polls/posts can result in warnings, suspension and eventually deletion of your account.
This site may be devoted to a game, but feel free to create your own in the games and quizzes board. Please Pm a mod for permission first.
30 minute rules: If a mod requests it, a 30 minute (may change depending on game) rule will be imposed. This means that once you post in a game, you cannot make another post for the next 30 (or however many) minutes.
If a forum member feels that someone is making abusive posts, inform a mod by PM. Don't take the bait and make posts or threads abusing the person in question, cause you'll get punished too.
NEVER give out personal information to anyone on this forum, that includes full name, address, telephone number, anything that can be used to track you. Also, do not give out your password, because you'll probably come back to find you've been blocked.
If a thread's been made, we really don't need another one, so don't make another. It will be locked anyway.
If you want a thread stickied (basically it stays at the top of the page, whether it's been posted in recently or not), then PM a mod about it and we'll see if we think it should be.
No one is allowed to trade physical items on this forum. It is not a shop, it is a place for people to talk, and we haven't got the security to be able to run a trade on this forum. if it is discovered that money or physical items have changed hands through deals done on this forum then the parties involved will be suspended. you are also not allowed to drop store names to give them hype. if they come up in normal conversation in the grand scheme of the thread, then that's allowed, but if you must hype a store or anything of that sorts, put it in your sig.
Trolls:
Unfortunately every forum has its problems, they are called Trols. These are forum members who try to make life miserable for everyone else by making posts designed to upset and annoy people.
A troll can be found by their lack of imagination and their belief that it is all a joke. if you feel that someone is a troll, PM a mod and we'll deal with it.
We cannot be held accountable by any content of a website which someone else links you to. If it is inappropriate, inform the mods, we'll check it out and remove the link if necesary.
Any links to illegal websites or instructions on how to perform illegal actions will be removed, and so will the poster.
It probably won't be harshly enforced, but please keep all gamertags and friend codes off of the forum. Put them in your sigs or ask people to pm you if they want them.
It might be an idea for mods to discuss descisions about modifying/deleting posts or banning members first, otherwise arguments can break out, and that's not great. This should be if a mod isn't sure what action to take. If a thread ort post is blatantly against the rules, the i think a mod should be allowed to act immediately.
There are other rules i've seen about thread necromancy and flaming, all those sorts of stuff but i really don't understand what it is so if Name could fill it in plase, thanks. All the same, don't do it, whatever it is.
Feel free to discuss current rules and possible future rules in the thread. if you think you have a rule that should be added then post it here and we'll look into it.
Additional: posting pictures
The time will come one day where pictures will need to be posted. To do this, you first need to upload your image to a website which stores images on web pages, then type the URL in between the following tags:
