Hey Well, were all here. We've all picked franchises, and we are waiting till alls sorted out so we can begin. But how much do you know about your enemy? In this thread (which could go in the games thread, but is franchise-wars based, and informative rather than fun), post a question about your franchise, and we'll all try to answer it. Or you could post a question about another franchise, and have the 'owner' answer it. This'll make us all just that much more aware of each others franchises, and might even spark interest for those who previously had little knowledge of other franchises. To start... If monster in-fighting caused a cyberdemon and a spider-mastermind to fight, who would win? and for Goldeneye: How does Advance wars work? Is it 'turn based exploit the weaknesses of your enemies with certain units, or simply blow away competition with more powerful units, till everyone is dead' like it seems, cos thats what i assumed it was...

pretty much yea... Well it's recently changed to create a more strategic element, cause before that there were these super powers that pretty much appeared every 5 turns and allowed you to decimate your enemy. They were booted and enemy AI was turned up, with unit strength being made a little fairer. Trust me it is more strategic than building a load of megatanks and obliterating all, cause there are other units that can take them down with ease for less money. If you try out Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict then you'll see what I mean.

CORRECT! They cyberdemon is quite stronger than the spider mastermind, good desimentation of facts (however, the cyberdemon is vulnerable to everything in the classic games, its only vulnerable to the soul cube in DOOM 3)!
Ok, commander cain (Bridges) was in airplane as the druck dude who said "Striker, striker, striker STRIKE HER!", ive seen airplane twice (once immoble after a huge sugar binge sickness crash), and as soon as i saw the guy in a pic on google i remembered that line...

Exar-Kun...though malak could have been confused if you did not put the double sided lighsaber bit in.
Okay...
what is the level in doom II where the icon of sin is located called?

He was cool in that episode too, his character was heavily inspired by the movie Patton. Adama was worried they would use too much fuel to get to the Cylons, which could be a problem if they got into a prolonged engagement, So Cain (Bridges) was like, "I don't have prolonged engagements with Cylons. They're not that good, and we are". It was pretty beastly . As for Doom II, never played it .

I must say... DOOM is an aquired taste.
Ignorant people would judge it by its first level and crappy graphics, but those who perseveer (bad speller, AND PROUD OF IT!) will find an increadably deep, challenging, and wickedly fun game. And how could it not be, its type-face is in capitals!
The fact that in started the FPS rage puts a valuable historical aspect on it too...
All i can remember from my limited battlestar experience was that mega-good/expensive special effect take-off sequence, a bunch of cylons breaking chairs ( i came in to the ep late, so it seemed strange) and the... what is it... is it the imperious leader?

Yes, Chairs are our worst enimies. We superior machines don't requiere chairs to rest our butts. I can't put my finger on which episode your talking about. Do you remember any bearded guys?
