I dont understand what your saying. We are making this game diffrent then the "original" (is that the original?). we use points because the game can be cheated on and it can destroy the whole thing.

basically the idea about points was decided to add more realism to the structure. you're not gonna build 500 super powered vehicles in the same time you build the same number of lower powered vehicles, no matter how hard you try. In that way, you need to think tacticaly as to when to build more expensive units and when not too. The 500 unit points represent how much you can afford to build after the day's resource collecting, and are expended to build units. If the difference doesn't suit you then that's fine, but i thought that it would be a better addition than just uncontrolled building.
We have tried the system on another forumand it works fine over there. If we have problems with it then we'll change it but it would have to be a major issue. Consider this one a trial, just to see how well it plays.

yeap.
ah the points ruin it, you just need fairness in the people playing. yes the rules we played with on ONM are the original hylian land war and mushroom kingdom wars rules written by galtherin in 2003.
is the a link to that mario board, with the proper rules? me and darth amrio from onm wanted to play, but were not being nasty, but the points thing and that ruin this version.

I'd give you the link but i wouldn't bother. anytime now the games boards going under a revamp so the majority of the games are getting deleted to remove the clutter. If it still exists after that then i'll give you the link.
You may as well start here, you can always drop out later if you still don't like it.
I don't know if you've seen how the old one ended up (basically in arguments cause people kept breaking the rules and building high-powered stuff), but thats why i've done it this way, to keep that stuff to a minimum.
I can assure you it gets less complicated the more you play. its not as if we won't help you along either.

even i agree with that, and i wrote the new ruleset...
I think the unfortunate problem is that some rules have to be over-detailed so they are understod.

Are not most of us hieling from warhammer 40k? a game about point value fairness and hefty yet understandable and neccesary rules? It works fine and is quite fair, so why is there so much fuss over this?
I suggest you post an alternative if you are annoyed with rules, instead of just bashing them. you sir are bordering on a troll. Sorry...but would you like it if i told you that your system of fairness was bad and ruins it.
that said, perhaps the point values need dumbing down or beefing up.

yea, the guy who brought this up came from another source where the game was played before (that was the one that failed). I kinda advertised this on there (before the thread got deleted) and thats where they came from. as far as i know their account hasn't been used for a while, so i doub't they'll be playing or posting in the future. As for points values, i tried to keep them as simple as possible, but simple to me isn't necessarily simple to others.
