This week in britain the vast majority of schools were shut when a huge amount of snow fell overnight, which, for some reason, annoyed a load of parents and resulted in the old newspaper tradition of of saying that we'd fought 2 world wars, had a massive empire etc. and we're beaten by a "little" snow.
So, anyway, i was wondering what everyone else thought. Is it only appropriate to shut the schools/not go to work if people can't make it, or should we continue as normally as possible? Also, what does your country do when snow falls?
PS: I'd like to say that even though i've mentioned the world wars and the british empire, I'm neither saying that it was right, nor am I using it to gloat at the people or countries involved, it is merely a statement. It is not posted to be offensive.
