Hey everyone Well... im trying to start a youtube series that will hopefully spurn off into something more (chances are though... oh nevermind). Well, i want it to be good, and for that to be the case i need some sort of editing software that will allow me to easily compile all the clips i make AND rotoscope (draw on and add effects) to my movies. i was just wondering if anyone had had any exp with this sort of thing, and if you could recommend a cheap one thats available to Aussies, and is for windows. Anyone?

well, i have the windows movie maker stuff on my laptop (vista home premium), that came as standard with it, if you can't find anything then i may be willing to help you out a bit by putting the film together, maybe depending on my own time allowance. I say check the microsoft website see what they have.

Thats just the problem... i need somthing more robust. If i want to make it any good i need some fancy visual effects to go allong with what im doing. people dig those. i was thinking of something like this... video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/videostudio-review.htmlthat apparently allows rotoscoping, but i was wondering if anyone had seen anything like it before.

No... i mean like a comical recreation of the events of the DOOM games after some guys roomate creates a portal after using his drill on the "Never use" setting, complete with overlayed imps with rotoscoped (theres that word again!) fireballs, a HUD, some form of projectile effects etc.
each ep would follow the adventures of (insert future char name here) and his sockpuppet who is possesed by some evil spirit (or something). Each episode focus's on either a pop culture icon... im thinking star trek with horrible special effects and over-the-top technobabble parodying the distinct "old scifi" of the show, SAW with the main char cutting his... *ahem*... off, only to realise that the key to the trap was extremly obvious... and with jigsaw played by someone with a darth vader voice changer, and some other segments where i "review" stuff, wether it be a movie/game, the pope, or the gobal finacial deficit is all up to whatever i think could turn out funny
This sort of thing gets recognition, and it'll be fun. Ive looked at videostudio, and it might just fit the bill... i hope... ill keep looking.

well... the only way i know how to do that is with a program like jask animationshop... and my phone can do it too.
If you dont mind me asking... what is the thing? I have acess to the jask thing and might be able to do it for you... provided you dont find a means to do it yourself.

it's a sprite for a game i'm making, and there'll be a load of them which i need doing in a short space of time.
There must be some way of doing it in a picture editing program, surely...

I just got a program called Animation Shop 3. it seems as if you could use it. we are using it for a school project using legos and stop-animation. My friend said he could edit in stuff, but I dont know if he ment in AS3 or Paint shop.

it's ok now, i've discovered that gamemaker (the program i'm using) comes with it's own sprite animator. Wish they'd said earlier...
